Film Academy Baden-Württemberg
The Film Academy Baden-Württemberg is one of the world’s leading institutions for film and media education. The practice-oriented “learning by doing” teaching approach makes studying in Ludwigsburg a unique experience. Admission requirements generally include a high school diploma and at least one year of practical experience in the film and media industry. Teamwork and a Distinctive Style: Starting in the first semester, students in all specializations collaborate on their films. As a result, more than 250 films of all genres and formats are produced each year at the Film Academy. Visiting faculty members help students develop their personalities and attitudes over the course of their studies, find their own style, and have the courage to take risks. A Unique Campus: With its Institute for Animation, Visual Effects, and Digital Image Design, the Ludwigsburg-Paris Studio, and the Baden-Württemberg Academy of Performing Arts—all located in close proximity to one another on a shared campus—the Film Academy offers students — an opportunity unique in Europe for broad interdisciplinary networking and training that transcends individual disciplines, genres, or art forms.
