Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart
As a state university of applied sciences located on its campus in Stuttgart-Vaihingen, the University of Media (HdM) trains specialists and well-rounded professionals for the media industry. Its range of degree programs under one roof is unique in Europe. Students can choose from nearly 30 accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, ranging from printing to audiovisual media, information design, and media informatics, advertising, and media publishing, all the way to media business and packaging technology.All degree programs offer active knowledge transfer through sound theory and hands-on projects. In the process, media content, technology, and business are integrated, teamwork is developed, and complex challenges are mastered. The curriculum is regularly reviewed and adapted to current developments in the media sectors. A practical semester is part of the bachelor’s program and underscores its practical focus. The Institute for Applied Research coordinates the HdM’s research activities on innovative topics across various media fields, ranging from printed electronics to digital media and information design. The Start-up Center serves as a resource for students who wish to establish and manage a business. In cooperation with partner universities, students can also pursue a doctoral degree at the HdM.
