How can we grow horticultural crops sustainably and use resources such as water and nutrients efficiently? Which innovative farming methods help to meet the challenges of climate change while increasing productivity?
These and other fascinating questions are explored by the Horticultural Sciences degree programme. As part of the Bachelor´s degree programme in Agricultural Sciences, you can specialise in horticultural sciences from the first semester. Here, you will explore the various aspects of production horticulture. Crop protection, greenhouse technology and sustainable cultivation systems are taught in a research-oriented way and you can specialise in modules such as Vegetable Growing, Fruit Growing and Viticulture. If you wish, you can participate in horticultural research projects, for example on climate change or urban farming. Your specialisation will be shown on your degree certificate. If you want to develop diverse plant production systems to support a healthy and sustainable diet, this degree course is just right for you.
